Family Reunion Banner

I was asked with short notice if I could come up with at banner for a family reunion being held this very weeked.
The names... HOLMES / COBB and the colors, green and white.
Although I was not able to get a picture of the full banner for it spanned more than 7 feet long !!! here are a few shots of what I created.
The letters were cut from Cricut Cart. Storybook, popdotted and heavily glittered :).
The punches for the corner borders and the green border were Martha Stewart.
I used crepe paper to create a little ruffel along the bottom and cut with decorative edge scissors. Everything was mounted on heavy matt board and finished off with silver sequins and jute tied in a sweet little bow. After having only two evenings after work to complete I was quite pleased with the results. So was my friend. :)

The Making of a mini

Happy Saturday everyone,
This post comes as a bit of suprise. I signed up just this week to join a swap on the Cricut message board. In this swap we are to make a mini scrapbook for a partner. I am new to mini's but could not be more excited to get this project underway.
Well... the following two mini's in the making were from a desire to play while in waiting of new supplies for my swap. Thus, I found myself digging into my stash of papers and products. The results thus far have me wanting for more :)
Carol... if your reading this.. please note these have no resemblance to the plans I have for your project. These were just something to do on this lovely Saturday.
And Although these are works in progress I could not resist the opportunity to share a few pics on my blog.

The first, a sweet pink....something. I dug out a K&Co paper pad ' Lovely ' that I purchased back around Valentines Day. I figured if these did not work out I could just toss...however I am beginning to love playing in the color pink!
You can't tell from my blog posts but pink is new for me and its like the sweet icing on a cake.

The second of the mini's in progress is one I thought I'd do for the many neglected photo's waiting to be scrapped of my dear Cody. I have many photos of frequent fishing trips with his dad and grandfather. This will allow me to share in his excitement of the 'BIG ONE'.

I should also mention that the book print flowers.. I received them from a online friend,(Jennifer Young)recently and oooOOohhh I can tell you that Im so going to need more.

Your comments are always cherrished! Huggs Ya'll :)

Discover

Another layout of my neice discovering the beauty all around her.
Nature is full of suprise and wonder and this sweet girl cant not get enough of the butterflies.
For the potted flowers and the garden gate, i used Cricut Cart. ' Freshly Picked '.
The butterflies were done with a MS punch.

Let the nail biting begin. :)
I have wrapped and tagged every last little item and all things are ready to ship.
My partner will be receiving a bix filled with goodies all for her. I wait with anticipation on her suprise.
How I wish I could be there when she opens each one.
