Collectors Cut Challenge #4 - Sentimentals

Ok my bloggin friends, For the Collectors Cut Challenge, I drew Popsicle stick " Sentimentals ", and knew I wanted to use the Bee Hive. Who does not love that little hive hum? Well I had planned a layout for my sweet niece and its still in the works... but I also had other ideas too. Unfortunately I could not complete all three projects for this particular challenge. I will be posting the layout in the future, so stay tuned.

The first of my Sentimentals projects below is a sweet little metal sign that I pulled straight from my stash! Gotta love that !!! I also wanted to use up some oldies but goodies paper from Basic Grey. Lemon aid collection. All the cuts are from Sentimental including the ' Honey ' title. could not resist the opportunity to make a Honey do board to hold lists. However I believe this will actually become more of a " Honey "... just do it list for myself..and all the things I tend to put off. Ill be hanging this cutie in my scrapping space to keep as a reminder of things I'd like to do for birthdays or holidays. the large bee.... yep you guessed it... Its a magnet!! so the list can easily be added and replaced.
Hope you like what you see and it inspires you to pull out your cartridge and get to cutting!

The second of my projects was to use the butterfly cut from this cart. All papers .. again came from my stash. The antenna's, I used pearl additions for wedding boquet's. I love looking for deals in all kinds of places, and these were on sale to boot. The little stacked pearls with the rhinestone centers were the perfect finishing touch. I also embossed using my cuttlebug and all layers were sewn.

CC challenge #3 - Wild Life cartridge

d

For Challenge three, my husband drew the Wild Life Cricut Lite cartridge.  Expecting another layout... I thought I would surprise him with a Valentines Day card instead.  This card has the hidden pocket to hold a gift card... to a hunters dream store... Bass Pro Shops!   I used the Wild Life cart to cut the Deer head and the Doe with fawn.  Note the Doe had two fawns with her but since we only have one child I omitted one.
The trees..... yep, for the third challenge in a row, I used Don Juan.  Told you its a fantastic cart!
Hope you like my card... and check back often for I will be moving on to challenge number four.
Be sure to check out the Collectors Cut blog.. .a blog where we collectors of cartridges are challenging ourself to use each and every one!    http://thecollectorscut.blogspot.com/

Collectors Cut Challenge #2 - coming soon

Challenge number one complete and number 2 under construction :)

Ill be away for a few days on business travel, but will have my gypsy with me for entertainment :)
For my next project Ill be using the Cricut Cartridge ' Rock Princess ' and ' Don Juan '.

I drew DJ first and anytime I pull a font cart only, ill pull a second to work up a design with it.  I know I just used DJ in my last project but it was not officially drawn and was needed for my title.   Its a favorite font so we just may see it used multiple times.   Creating a boyish page with Rock Princess !!!!  Stay Tuned .........

The Collectors Cut - Challenge number #1

Ok girls... there it is.  My first completed challenge for 2011.  I drew the Cricut Cartridge:  When its cold outside and immediately knew I wanted to do a layout using this photo!  Cody is on the far right and his high school friend on the far left.  They went to Illinois the day after Christmas to squeeze in one more hunt in famous Pike Co. Illinois---- Deer Country.   Josh is in the middle, this is a new friend that lives there and is the Foreman for a outfitter.  For these boys... ' When its cold outside ' the woods are calling.
For the back ground I used my Gypsy and welded only the shadow flakes together.  Wanted to create a die cut that covered the majority of the page.  Then to highlight a snowflake I cut the deer and its shadow two bumps larger.   Then cut right down the middle to flock either side of the picture.   For the title... I used Stone Script for ' Ive got , in ' and from Printing Press the charmed option was used for the word ' Friends '.
Then a all time favorite - Don Juan for the words 'Snow Places'.   Thank you to my friend Tracy for helping me come up with this perfect title!!  Even the guys liked it!!

Please be sure and check out the Blog http://thecollectorscut.blogspot.com/  where my friends have completed Challenge number one as well. Link up, because we love new inspiration and love to share   :)

2011 Crafting resolution !!

Hello blog, its only appropriate I share my 2011 crafting resolution here.  For this year, I am committed to CREATE more!   2010 I discovered I had a habit of collecting crafting supplies. My guess is many are like me. I have found a few of my online buddies with similar habits and thus we have decided to put our products to work.  If you are a Cricut lover... then you know all to well the thrill of collecting cartridges. Well I have a collection of more than 100 and its now time to put them to work!   Here is the plan. First, I have inventoried all carts, and obtained a quaint little jar for my crafting table.  This jar is filled with small popsicle sticks each containing the name of a cartridge I currently own.   I will draw from this jar and will post on my blog the title of my newest challenge.  From it I will create whatever my heart desires,  layouts of my family, altered items or just embellished cuts for future projects.  Pics. will be posted here.... and drum roll needed  \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\  This will also be placed on a shared blog with a few of my on line friends.
This blog will feature their own personal challenges as well. We think this is going to not only inspire us to do more, but also inspire our followers.  We each will be creating based on our own personal challenge thus all projects, themes and carts could be different.  Its going to be fun!!!
Check back soon, Ill be posting the Cartridge to be used for the first of my projects as well as a link to the shared site!
Bring on 2011 and the challenge of using every single cartridge in my possession by the end of the year!
