Dream Big - SOUS Die Cut Snowflake Challenge

SOUS Die Cut Friday.  Hoping you all are still in the holiday spirit, and now that the presents have all been opened and some much needed down time availale I hope you can find the time to escape and create.  My suggestion is to tell the family there are left overs in the fridge and to knock before they enter you crafty space. :)      For this weeks challenge we were asked to create anything with a snowflake.  Opportunity to finish up some hunting trip photos of my favorite fellas from one of their many trips to Illinois.   The Snow is always beautiful and the bundled up guys are precious to me.
Be sure to visit the official SOUS BLOG for all the teams creative inspiring ideas.    I just love this group of gals and if you have not visited in a while please do as there are several new amazing ladies that have joined us and their work is oh so inspiring!
Also, be sure to link up!  we love love to see everyones creations.

For this layout I used some of the newest Cricut Cartridges,  Edge to Edge for the Snowflake background and for the main snowflake Anna Griffin Winter Wonderland.  If you do not have these might I recommend you finding them before they are no longer available!

SOUS Ornament challenge

Welcome December, Welcome Christmas!  My favorite time of year.  It is the most wonderful time of the year by far!    Today is SOUS Friday and this weeks die cut challenge, create an ornament.  I could not wait to get my hands into the new Cricut cartridge by Anna Griffin, Winter Wonderland.  The shadow box below is what I came up with.   LOVE LOVE this !!   I added  depth with foam pop dots.
satin trim and glitter.   I used red ric rak along the inside of the glass on the upper portion and think this really gives it the vintage look I was going for.  The outer fame of the box was covered in gold glitter paper and aged with Tim Holtz inkers.     I see lots of new projects on the horizon with this cartridge.  Thank you for stopping by and thanks to you Anna Griffin for a great and Wonderful partnership with Provo Craft.

The Cuts !!

The below you can see the inside side walls covered in a classic basic grey paper.
Berries were covered in Stickles.

Its SOUS Friday friends !!  Hope you all have had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that your tummies are full.   After the nap and black Friday shopping maybe you will find some time to craft!  this time of year is difficult to squeeze in creative time but when we can its always refreshing.  :)

For this weeks challenge we were asked to create using numbers.   Cody just recently turned 20 and I could not wait to scrap this photo of him holding a cupcake with candle :)   So hard to believe he is growing up.  sigh....

For this layout I used my Cricut E2 and the cartridge that came already loaded.  Cricut Alphabet for the " 20 ".  And for the Happy Birthday... Cricut Phrases.  LOVE LOVE LOVE that cartridge!
Be sure to check out the official SOUS Blog linked here for all the creations the team came up with!   grab a cup of cocoa, relax and enjoy.

THANKS

Know what day it is?   Come on, come on, what day is it?  Why its SOUS DAY!!!  LoL.  I know not very original but gotta love it.   So its SOUS Friday and that means a new challenge.  This time we were asked to keep with in the season and create an Autumn arrangement.  A cluster of Autumn goodness.  for this i am sharing two projects.  one created with a previous paper doll i made a while back and then something fresh and new.   My cricut was used for each.  Paper dolls for the scarecrow,  corn husks and fence and Reminisce for the banner in my card and the wood panel cut. last but not least I pulled out my Thanksgiving cart for the wheat.  The sunflower was cut from the flower cart.

One Crafty Speller

*** POOF ***

Hello Blog Land !!  feels like its been forever!  No worries.. FALL is here and this by far is one of my favorite crafting seasons.  How about you?     Its a Happy SOUS Friday Challenge and I sure hope you participate in this one.  Do not forget to link up on the official SOUS Blog.    Can you guess what this challenge was about?   If you said Halloween... wrong!   Our queen crafty witch or is that goddess... Nanne' challenges us to come up with a project with the theme " Hocus Pocus "   so anything to do with magic!   I could have come up with something Disney, or some sort of magical moment with my family.  Instead I took a queue from my most amazing talent.. or lack there of.  " Spelling " !!!  LOL   I'm a scrapbooker you see, and my most favorite subject, a straight A his whole life now Sophomore in college studying to enter the medical field with a minor in foreign language.   So I hope I have painted the picture for you.  For you see, I'm the creative one, not the brains in the family... and he does not hesitate to point out my every misspelled word with in his albums.  So nothing could be more appropriate than this to adorn the door of my crafty space.   I think its important to take special note in the ' spelling ' portion of this sign.... for you see, I could not resist the opportunity to add this cute cuttlebug frog adorned with my Sizzix witches die hat to which his little rabbit ears poke through.   LOL !! thus emphasizing the 'magic' part of this theme and my inability to cast appropriate 'spells'. I also used my Cricut cartridge Happy Hauntings for the witch and frame.   Sizzix font strip for the message.   I just love how this turned out and hope you are inspired to run to your crafty caves and create create create !

Happy Crafting my fellow spellbinders !!!   :)   Be sure to check out the Official SOUS BLOG for more amazing inspiration !   Until next time ** POOF **  :)

Awesomness

SOUS Die Cut Reveal Day.  This week the challenge was STARS.   And this week I again was able to scrap some way overdue photos.  So glad these were in my pile for this challenge.  Not sure that I would have thought of it otherwise so it was indeed fate.
As you can see I am still into my six by six obsession as of late.  I found that I really like the mix of pattern used for back grounds and then used again as layers in my embellishments.!  I mean come on gals, how can we purchase an entire paper collection with out breaking the bank :)  who does not love that ?    For this layout I turned to my Cricut Cartridge Superman for the comic strip stars, and also used a Martha Stewart border punch of stars.

These two boys have grown so much since this photo.  and grown so fast.  ** sigh.  I just cherish the memories made.

Handy Cards

Happy Friday Friends.   Today is reveal day for the SOUS Die Cut team.  We were challenged to use a Die cut Gate.   I created several cards to keep in my stack of go to cards when I need em'.
I love that these can be used as sympathy, encouragement, or for a thinking of you.   For the Gate I turned to Cricut Cartridge Picturesque, and for the Bird - Artiste.   The tulips are from a Cricut Lite - Botanicals.   I also embossed the gate giving it a woodgrain feel.  And again, I am finding that the six by six paper pads are a fabulous go to.  Everything corridinates, and I dont feel like I am waisting paper.  Just love that.

Yes I know there are so many options out there for die cutting, but for now my Cricut and my investment still meet my needs.   I just know that I have not used all my cartridges to their fullest potential and will continue to do so until I cant any longer... or .. until I cave to the newest in electronic cutting.

Be sure to check out the SOUS blog for inspiration where you will find that we all use different tools and seem to all create an everlasting memory.

Life Was Good Today

August.. brings memories of Football and yeppers you guessed it, another Homecoming layout. LOL.  Have I told you how much I appreciate SOUS and their challenges pushing me to complete so many layouts ?   For this weeks challenge the Die Cut Team was asked to create using Borders.   Wow so many choices.   Me, kept it simple.  One EK Success punch.  And Punched many many many times ... :)   Hope you like, and that it offers inspiration for you to create your own back grounds.

Codys Sr. Year was full of fun.  For the Basketball homecoming week they would go to each game with a theme in mind.  This paticular game every one dressed up.  Kinda like halloween, but not.  Its fun and offers a huge distraction to the opposing team.  Yes... they won :)
Cody's costume .. the Big Bad Wolf.   So not affraid. lol.

I used the EK Success punch to create all the zig zag back grounds and a mix of 6x6 paper pads.
A great way to use up some of that paper!   Also used the Cricut Cartridge Cheerful Seasons for the Title.

We would love to see you link up over on SOUS.. but even if you dont, be sure to check out all the team created this week.

BEWARE - of my HALLOWEENIES !!

Today is SOUS Die Cut Team reveal and oh what fun it is.  Well its always fun isn't it ?  For this challenge we were asked to create with a theme of Furry Friends in mind.   Having little dachshund dogs I cold not resist ! I know we are not in October as of yet but hey.. never to early to prepare right?    I created this little sign using Cricut Cartridge Four Legged Friends and Happy Hauntings.
So much fun I think.  The little pups look a little nervous them self. LOL.
I had in my every growing stash of paper some old Basic Grey with all those little bones on it that I used for the back ground.  I know this will be on display in my home for many Halloweens to come.

Link up with us on the SOUS blog. and be sure to browse for extra inspiration!

Guess where Im going ?!!?!?! :)

Today I get to announce to all my creative friends that I am finally making the long overdue trip to DISNEY !!  I can not begin to tell you how excited I am as I will be spending a week through New Years with my neice where all the magic begins!   So when the SOUS Die cut team was asked to create something Disney, I was overjoyed.   Then overwhelmed.  I knew I wanted to jump start on my scrapbook album.... but no photos.  hummmm  and then it hit me.  The cover page to what will be an album containing all my memories of the trip.  :)
So with out delay here is what I came up with.   DISNEY, 2014 !!

For this I used Cricut Carts: Mickey Font - to create the back ground of mickey heads and the Disney title.  Also, Wrap it up for that fabulous Castle and for the date, I used a go to cartridge - Don Juan.

I love it and this will become the inspiration for my entire album.  Bring on 2014 !!!

Be sure to check out the SOUS blog to see what our other Die Cut Team members created !  Who does not love Disney :)

10th Grade Homecoming

Sketch Challenge time again over on SOUS.  I really enjoyed this one and completed yet another layout for Codys album.  Homecoming formals allow me to add some girly accents and that I love love love.  Him... not so much. LOL.   For this sketch I really sat and played a bit with my Cricut Cart, Lacey Labels.  I can not believe how tiny I was able to cut all thoes pieces.  I think it turned out better than any store bought embellishment myself  :)

Check out the SOUS BLOG and absorb all the official SKETCH TEAM girls came up with.  I hope they approve of my design and so thankful to be able to participate with them when I can.  They are fab!

Hello - Sending Warm Wishes

Today July 12 is the SOUS Die Cut team reveal day.  A favorite day of mine!! I love playing with paper and turning all that pattern into something that makes me smile.  For this challenge we were asked to use a flourish.  Seemed simple enough and after pouring through all those Cricut Carts, I discovered a world of flourishes... but what to make... then a butterfly landed on the flowers outside my window and TA DA.... A happy hello for spring or summer.
For this challenge I used Cricut carts - Serenade for the Flourish and April Showers for the cloud and butterfly.

Go Team Go!

Another Friday over on SOUS and another opportunity to complete some layouts for Cody's albums.
Participating in the Sketch challenges is certainly fun, allows me to get much needed photos scrapped but wow, are the girls on that Design Team simply wonderful!  I'm certainly not up to par when compared to that talent but keeping in Kimi style and attempting to create a few masculine pages for his album this is what I came up with .   This sketch is another wonderful one as it can be turned to go with the photos either verticly or on thr horizontial..  I chose to turn it, and scrap all this silliness from Cody's Senior Football Homecoming week.  Yes.. they actually spray painted that truck orange !! wow... Chase's dad earned  huge ' coolio dad points for that!

Be sure to browse the inspiration found on the SOUS Blog for this challenge, you will be inspired for sure with all that talent.

Let the Good Times Roll

June 28 means Happy Reveal Day over on the SOUS Blog !!  For this day we were challenged by Sandi to come up with a design with the theme Nifty Fifties.  As I am fast approaching that mark I wondered if it would be as Nifty.. lol.    My husband however can already put that milestone behind him and so I thought I card for him would be perfect for this theme.   I used the Cricut Cart - Nifty Fifties ( that was a gimmie )  and Created this cooool car.   Not that you can tell but its extrememly layered with up to 5 cuts giving it great dimension on the card base.   The inside reads " Everyday is an adventure, Enjoy the ride".    New moto maybe ?  :)

Hope you like and be sure to link up over on the SOUS BLOG, we love to see your creations!
